WAVEPIA is an IC design house and fabless company in South Korea which was established in 2014. Since we started the business, we have been focusing on building up our own product lineup. As a result of the efforts, we now have a solid product lineup with GaN transistors (bare-dies, Packaged Transistors, and MMICs), leading us to expand our business boundaries to GaAs and RF Energy Solution. In terms of the business model, we have a different business model for each market. For the telecommunication and defense market, we decided to support them transistors only to prevent conflicts with our customers. In the GaN market, customers and suppliers have been suffering from a problem that eventually ended up being competitive. For this reason, we only support them with sample modules for evaluation purposes for our transistors. However, we have a different business model in RF Energy Market. Since our RF Energy Solution, which is called HPGP (High-Power GaN Phase-locked loop), is the cutting-edge technology (No drive amplifier required) in the field, it made us be involved in the market, providing our efficient solution.
We work with Win semiconductor as our main foundry.
We manufacture our packaged devices in our own assembly house.
There are two types of lead: Ceramic and kovar. The body is a heatsink which is made of super CMC. Heat transfer coefficient of Super CMC is 350 or above. We prepare the body made of the graphite, the heat transfer coefficient is 400 or above.

We are focusing on high power & high-Frequency products for each market because we believe there are definitely some applications in those fields that can take advantage of GaN’s characteristics.
